The main courses after 12th arts are BA in a subject you like, integrated law (BA LLB), journalism and mass communication, design, fine arts, social work, hotel management, teacher education and short diplomas. Arts (also called humanities) is not a "weak" stream. Many top civil servants, lawyers, journalists, designers and teachers studied arts. This page groups the options in tables with eligibility, how you get in and duration, then covers arts stream jobs and government jobs for arts students, with links to full guides.
I tell every arts student the same thing: your stream gives you time. A BA leaves room to prepare for UPSC, state services or bank exams alongside. Use that time well and arts can take you very far. Humanities job opportunities have also grown in media, law, design, social work, research and policy, so the career options in arts stream today are much wider than many parents think.
