This BSc courses list covers every major Bachelor of Science option open after 12th: pure science subjects, computer and IT, agriculture, nursing and the health science degrees. For each group you will find eligibility, duration, how admission works, fees and the jobs it leads to. BSc is the widest degree family in India, so the right choice depends on your 12th subjects (PCM or PCB), your marks and the kind of work you want to do every day.
What is BSc course
BSc stands for Bachelor of Science. It is an undergraduate degree where you study one or more science subjects in depth, with lab work in every year. In a BSc general or programme degree you take two or three subjects together. In a BSc Honours you go deep into one main subject. Professional BSc degrees like agriculture, nursing and the allied health courses are tied to a specific job and have their own councils.

Eligibility and BSc entrance exams
- General BSc: 12th science from a recognised board. Many universities admit on 12th marks; central and many other universities use CUET UG by NTA.
- BSc agri entrance exam: state agriculture universities hold their own tests or use state CETs. For seats under ICAR's all India quota, admission goes through CUET UG. Read the counselling notice on the ICAR website.
- BSc Nursing: state tests, university tests, or NEET UG at some institutions. Central institutes like AIIMS run their own BSc nursing and paramedical admissions; details appear on the AIIMS exams website.
- Allied health BSc: merit, state paramedical tests, or institute tests.

BSc course details: subjects you study
Every BSc has core papers, lab practicals, and a few skill or general papers. Here is how a BSc in computer science and a BSc in agriculture typically look, as two examples:
BSc Computer Science course details
First year: programming in C or Python, computer fundamentals, discrete maths, digital logic. Second year: data structures, databases, operating systems, object oriented programming. Third year: networks, software engineering, web technology, electives like machine learning or cloud, and a project. The B Sc IT course details are close to this: it covers similar ground with more weight on networks and applications.
BSc agri courses
Agronomy, soil science, plant breeding, plant pathology, entomology, horticulture, animal husbandry, agricultural economics and extension. The final year usually includes rural or field work experience in villages and on farms.
BSc fees: government vs private colleges
Government colleges and state universities cost much less than private ones. A general BSc at a government college may cost a few thousand to a few tens of thousands of rupees a year. Private colleges charge several times more, and professional BSc programmes like nursing and allied health in private colleges cost the most. Agriculture at state agriculture universities is usually reasonable. Check the fee in the official prospectus, and ask what is included (lab, exam, hostel).
